Concrete sealers are the key to keeping the ill effects of the environment away from it, and yet so many people don’t seal their concrete correctly or worse, never seal at all. Here are a few tips and reminders to help prepare and prolong the life of your concrete through the winter season and many more thereafter.

Remember, freshly poured concrete needs its first sealing before the first two winters and then every third year after that.

• Do not use any de-icers on concrete work during the first two winters.
• Do not allow snow or ice to accumulate on newly poured concrete work for the first two winters.
• Keep lawn fertilizers washed off newly poured concrete as it will chemically eat away at the cemement paste.
• Apply a quality sealer or call Aesthetic Concrete Designs to recommend what sealer to use
• Most sealers available at your Big Box stores will not protect your concrete like our Commercial grade sealers will.
